Song Bok-hee, also known professionally as Song Hae, was a South Korean television host and singer.
From 1988 until his death in 2022, he had been the host of the music show Korea Sings and was also a veteran of the Korean War.
Song Bok-hee was born on April 27, 1927, in modern-day Chaeryŏng-gun, South Hwanghae Province in North Korea.
He fled to the south via boat during the Korean War and arrived in Busan port. As a souvenir of that voyage, he later adopted the stage name Hae (meaning sea) and used it as his stage name.
Song served as a military signaller for the South, and claimed to have sent the message for the end of the Korean War.
Hae made his debut in the Changgong musical troupe in 1955. Song, who was 60 years old, became the emcee of Korea Sings in 1988. He held that position until his death in 2022.

Song Hae died on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at his home in South Korea’s capital, Seoul, according to the Seoul National University Hospital.
Hospital officials didn’t specify the cause of death.
However, Song in recent media interviews had complained about a slow recovery from COVID-19 after being diagnosed with the illness in March and expressed a desire to leave KBS TV’s “National Singing Contest,” the weekly show he emceed for more than three decades.
