Ghana’s new darling boy, Daniel Kofi-Kyereh will have to wait a little longer to make his full debut for the Black Stars.
The striker did not travel with the Black Stars team to South Africa due to travel restrictions by his club, Saint Pauli, to red listed countries for the World Cup qualifiers.
Daniel Kyereh came on in the game against Ethiopia on Friday as Ghana began the 2022 World Cup qualifiers on a winning note.
He replaced Jeffrey Schlupp, who was forced off with an injury in the 25 minute.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace duo of Jeffrey Schlupp and Jordan Ayew, the Reading duo of Andrew Yiadom and Baba Abdul Rahman as well as Daniel Amartey of Leicester City were not part of the travelling party to Johannesburg.
Rennes forward Kamaldeen Sulemana could also not travel with the Black Stars because he has been recalled by their clubs.
The decision by the European clubs to withdraw their players was based on the fact that with South Africa on the Covid red-list countries, the footballers would face a ten-day quarantine on their return to Europe.
The team arrived in Johannesburg on Sunday morning and will training at the FNB stadium today before Monday’s crucial encounter.
Ghana lead Group G with three points after the victory over Ethiopia last Friday, with South Africa and Zimbabwe with a point each.
