Stefanos Tsitsipas is a professional tennis player who was born on 12 August 1998 in Athens, Greece.
Having been born into a tennis family, Stefanos was introduced to tennis at the age of three and began taking tennis lessons at age six.
He was ranked world No.1 at the junior level and also became the first Greek male in the Open Era to win a junior Grand Slam title when he won the 2016 Wimbledon boys’ doubles competition.
Tsitsipas turned professional in 2015 and on 9 August 2021 he became the highest-ranked Greek player in history when the Association of Tennis Professionals ranked as world No.3.
After winning the 2019 ATP Finals he became the youngest winner of the year-end championships in eighteen years.
Stefanos has eight ATP singles titles under his belt.

Stefanos Tsitsipas was born to Julia Apostoli and Apostolos Tsitsipas who were both former tennis players.
Julia (August 13, 1964 ), his mother, who is originally from Russia played tennis at the highest level; having been ranked in the top 200 in the world and representing the Soviet Union in the Fed Cup.
At the time of Stefano’s birth, both Apostolos and Julia were working as tennis instructors at Astir Palace resort hotel in Vouliagmeni.
The couple met at a WTA tournament where Julia was competing and Apostolos worked as a line judge. They have four children; Stefanos, Petros, Pavlos, and Elisavet Tsitsipa.
