Stop Diving If You Want To Be Like Drogba – Mourinho To Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen

Jose Mourinho believes Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is in the mold of legendary Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba but thinks the former need to cut out diving from his game to reach the Ivorian’s level.

Osimhen was on the score sheet when his side came up against Mourinho’s team over the weekend with the display of great technique and balance but the AS Roma manager says he needs to remove diving from his game.

The AS Roma coach was asked about the similarity or otherwise between Osimhen and his former player Didier Drogba after his side lost to Napoli by 2-1 at the Stadio Maradona.

Mourinho admitted that the Nigerian forward is on the same level as Drogba with the only dark spot being that he dives.

The Portuguese went on to say that it will be fine if Victor changes and that he would buy him if he was at a club with a lot of money to spend. But if he earns a move to England, he would have o change, because unlike in the Italian league, the English Premier League does not countenance such behavior and would come down hard on him.

Victor Osimhen was seen having a chat with Jose Mourinho post-match. Mourinho said he told the striker that his goal was a wonderful one and that he needs to stop diving.
