Famous Ghanaian singer and RuffTown Records, Wendy Asiamah Addo better known as Wendy Shay has petitioned her fans to desist from downloading her songs for free and stream them so she can make money off her songs.
The ‘Kut it’ hitmaker earlier on revealed that she hosts her Shay Concert for free as a way of giving back to her fans for the support they show her.
In an interview with Nana Romeo of Accra FM, Wendy Shay urged Ghanaians to stream her songs so she could earn revenue.
Giving her two cents on why her fans are illegally downloading her songs, Wendy Shay pointed out the prices of data bundles for internet connectivity was one of the main reasons.
“We need to educate Ghanaians against illegal downloads .Unlike countries in Eastern Africa, the cost of data in Ghana is quite expensive and often discourages people from streaming songs online.”
