The supposed suspension of Bishop Sunday Onuoha, the Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC)in Abia State, and three others by one Norman Obinna has been dismissed as fake news by the South East Zonal Secretariat.
The announcement was made in a statement signed by Chilos Godsent the National Vice Chairman, of South East.
The South East Zonal Secretariat of the party said it received with utmost despair the incredible news of the supposed suspension of its governorship candidate for Abia State, Bishop Sunday Onuoha by Norman Obinna who purports to be the chairman of ADC in Abia State.
The party urged its supporters and all the people of Abia State to disregard what it terms fake news from Norman Obinna and deems it as meant to tarnish the image of its candidates and the party as a whole.
It went on to state that Norman Obinna has been expelled from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) since September 2022 for leadership ineptitude, misappropriation, and anti-party activities, rendering him a non-member or chairman of the party.
The ADC goes on to state that it suspects that the said Norman Obinna is a hireling of opposition parties who has been charged to cause confusion within its ranks.
It said that its popularity and that of its candidate Bishop Sunday Onuoha has become a cause for concern for its political opponents but it is clear that the people of Abia State will not sit unconcerned as the party’s enemies seek to destroy the destiny of their six million inhabitants.
