Tariq Lamptey Returns To Training At Brighton Ahead Ghana Games vs Angola

Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey has begun training individually at the team’s training ground. This is a result of a knock he picked in a 4-0 win over West Ham United on 4 March.

Under the supervision of the team’s medical team, the diminutive defender underwent a series of scans.

Lamptey started in Roberto De Zerbi’s side that demolished West Ham United but was taken off only after 16 minutes with what was suspected to be a knee injury.

After missing out in Brighton’s 2-2 away draw with Leed United over the weekend, It is not known if he will be named in the team’s match-day squad for their English Premier League match against Crystal Palace tomorrow.

Ghana’s national team head coach, Chris Hughton, named Tariq Lamptey in his twenty-five-man list for the doubleheader 2023 Africa Cup of Nations encounters with Angola later this month.

The Black Stars will host the Palancras Negras of Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on 23 March, before traveling to Luanda on 27 March for the second-leg tie.
