The attitude of Ghanaian politicians making untrue promises dates to before Ghana was granted independence. This can be seen in a video from the past that was shared via social media.
Ghanaians were ecstatic in 2016 when president Akufo-Addo, who was candidate by then for the NPP, pledged that he would build dams and factories for every district within Ghana and reduce the high-cost of living which he claims John Mahama created.
Although those promises have not yet fulfilled, Ghanaians have dug to reveal an old video of the country’s first president making the exact pledge.
In the video posted online, Kwame Nkrumah is heard saying to Ghanaians in the midst of the video that he would let everyone own a car as well as houses.
Although it may seem old, however, it sheds light on the promises that were made by Akufo Addo in 2016 before the general elections which brought him and the NPP into power for the 2nd time after John Agyekum Kufour.
