Controversial Nigerian social commentator, Reno Omokri has advised women to shy away from the widely accepted notion of equality in marriage.
In a Facebook post that has since raked in mixed reactions, Reno Omokri explained that a man should always be the head of the home irrespective of situation.
“There is no equality in marriage. The husband should always be the head! When a man says to a woman, ‘will you be my wife?’ he is actually applying for a job,” he wrote.
He explained that for a marriage to be successful, the woman should be willing to submit and follow the man adding that the direct opposite leads to chaos.
“The happiest marriages happen when women choose, of their own free will, to marry men that they want to follow and obey. The unhappiest marriages occur when women choose to marry men they do not want to follow and obey.”
