The vice president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo, has called on Ghanaians not to read too much meaning into Chris Hughton’s decision to leave out Andre Ayew in Black Stars game against Angola.
Andre Ayew, captain of the Black Stars was dropped from the starting eleven in the game against Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Many eyebrows have been raised with the decision of the coach, however, Mark Addo has called for calm.
He has said that there is nothing to worry about regarding the decision of the coach to leave Andre Ayew out of the starting eleven on the day.
Mark Addo told Asempa FM that Andre Ayew was substituted against Uruguay at the World Cup in Qatar and sees nothing wrong with that.
He went on to say that he does not know what necessitated that decision but he does not see anything wrong with Chris Hughton’s decision to leave out Andre Ayew from the Black Stars squad.
He added that he does not want to conjecture anything because that would be a disservice to the technical team and the playing body but he does not think there is anything wrong with that decision.
Ghana recorded a hard-fought win through Antoine Semenyo’s 96th-minute strike.
