Todd and Julie Chrisley Found Guilty On Federal Tax Evasion Case

Reality TV star, Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley have been found guilty of conspiracy to defraud banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans according to a statement from the Department of Justice.

The couple together with their accountant was also charged with several tax crimes, including an attempt to defraud the Internal Revenue Service.

“As today’s outcome shows, when you lie, cheat and steal, justice is blind as to your fame, your fortune, and your position…In the end, when driven by greed, the verdict of guilty on all counts for these three defendants proves once again that financial crimes do not pay,” Keri Garley, FBI special agent said while commenting on the verdict.

According to the Department of Justice, Todd, and his wife defraud banks in the Atlanta locality by submitting fake bank statements to receive loans.

It added that the two also evade taxes while making millions from their reality show.
