Born on September 19, 1998, in Lubbock, Texas, United States, Rayford Trae Young is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association.
He was a college basketball player for the Oklahoma Sooners. He tied the record for single-game assists in National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I with 22.
Young was the NCAA’s only player to lead both assists and points in a single season.
He was nicknamed “Ice Trae” and was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks with the fifth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
He was later traded to the Atlanta Hawks along with a future first round pick for draft rights to Luka Dončić.
Doncic was also unanimously selected to the 2019 NBA All-Rookies First Team. He has been a two-time NBA All-Star.
