George Murdoch, known by his stage name as Tyrus, is an American professional wrestler, who is currently signed to the National Wrestling Alliance where he is the current NWA World Television Champion.

Born on February 21, 1973, in Pasadena, California, United States, Tyrus is well-known for his tenure in WWE in the role of Brodus Clay, as well as Impact Wrestling as Tyrus.

After having a training session in WWE’s farm regions Deep South Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling, Murdoch debuted in the season 4 of WWE NXT, a WWE TV show in which a number of rookies were placed with WWE wrestlers to serve as their mentors.

In the year 2018, Tyrus disclosed a childhood incident where his abusive father injured his eye when he hit him. This incident caused his mother to abandon his father.

As Tyrus’ mother retreated into her parent’s house, Murdoch has stated that he and his brother were not welcomed due to their father being black.

According to Murdoch, he and his brother lived with a foster family for many years. During this period, Murdoch was “obsessed” with changing his complexion and believed that this could allow him to reconnect with his family.

Murdoch along with his older brother later moved back in with their mother, however, Murdoch was able to leave home at 15.
