Vin Scully Cause Of Death

An American sportscaster Vincent Edward Scully has passed away.

Born on November 29, 1927, in The Bronx, New York, United States, Scully was best known for his 67 seasons calling games for Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers, beginning in 1950 and ending in 2016.

Scully’s run calling games constituted the longest tenure of any broadcaster with a single team in professional sports history.

He was second only to Tommy Lasorda (by two years) in terms of number of years associated with the Dodgers organization in any capacity.

In 2016, he retired at age 88, ending his record-breaking run as the team’s play-by-play announcer.

Scully in his final season behind the microphone announced most Dodgers home games (and selected road games) on SportsNet LA television and KLAC radio.

Vin Scully Cause Of Death

Scully died of natural causes at his Los Angeles home on August 2, 2022, at the age of 94.

The Los Angeles Dodgers Mourn him in a statement that read;

“He was the voice of the Dodgers, and so much more.

“He was their conscience, their poet laureate, capturing their beauty and chronicling their glory from Jackie Robinson to Sandy Koufax, Kirk Gibson to Clayton Kershaw.

“Vin Scully was the heartbeat of the Dodgers – and in so many ways, the heart of all of Los Angeles.”

Dodgers President and CEO Stan Kasten said: “We have lost an icon.”

“The Dodgers’ Vin Scully was one of the greatest voices in all of sports.

“He was a giant of a man, not only as a broadcaster, but as a humanitarian.

“I know he was looking forward to joining the love of his life, Sandi.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this very difficult time.

“Vin will be truly missed.”
