Accra Hearts of Oak head coach, Slavko Matic has bemoaned his side’s lack of killer instinct in their defeat to Aduana Stars on Sunday.
Hearts of Oak suffered a 2-0 defeat on Matchday 18 at the hands of Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Isaac Mintah’s second-half brace in the 47th and 64th minute downed the Phobians and propelled the Aduana Stars to extend their lead at the top of the leaderboard to five points.
In a post-match interview with StarTimes, Slavko Matic stated that his team was punished for being wasteful after missing six to seven clear-cut opportunities that fell on their path.
He said that his side had a lot of chances, adding up to about 6 or 7 but because they did not take advantage, they got punished.
Matic added that sometimes if when you don’t score, mentally the team goes down and he believes that is what happened on the day.
Accra Hearts of Oak now lie 4th on the league table after accruing 28 points in 18 matches.
They will face regional rivals Great Olympics on Wednesday in the matchday 19 games.
