We Didn’t Deserve To Lose Against Niger – Annor Walker

Coach of the Black Galaxies of Ghana, Annor Walker has expressed his views on his team’s defeat to Niger in the quarterfinals of the 2022 CHAN tournament which is ongoing in Algeria.

The local Black Stars as the team is known at home was knocked out of the tournament after recording a 2-0 loss to Niger on Saturday evening.

Niger forward Soumana Hainokye Boubacar put the icing on the cake for the Nigeriens with a sublime finish into the top right corner of the Ghanaian goal after Ghana defender Konadu Yiadom scored an own goal.

Annor Walker said in an interview that the early goal scored by Niger fuelled their determination whereas his team was demoralized by it. And when the second goal was registered, Ghana struggled to come back and eventually lost but he is adamant his side did not deserve to lose.

Niger made it to the semifinals with a 2-0 win over Ghana and will face hosts Algeria on Tuesday.
