Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who doubled as the ruler of Abu and the Preseident of the United Arab Emirates was born on 7th September 1948 Qasr Al-Muwaiji, Al Ain, in Abu Dhabi.
He was the eldest of his parents’ children. Sheikh Khalifa was a graduate of the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.
On 2 November 2004 he ascended the throne of Abu Dhabi as Emir and the president of the United Arab Emirates.
The Emir had control over some 97.8 billion barrels of oil reserves and was considered one of the richest monarchs in the world.
He was named one of the most powerful people in the world in 2018 by Forbes.
What Happened To Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan?
Sheikh Khalifa is dead, but the cause of death remains unknown. However, he suffered a stroked in 2014, and had since been acting in a more ceremonial capacity until his death.
Sheikh Khalifa died on May 13, 2022, at the age of 73.
