What Illness Got Wayne Stenehjem Hospitalized: Former attorney general of North Dakota, Wayne Stenehjem, died on Friday, January 28, 2022, at the age of 68, according to a statement from his office.
The statement reads;
“It is with the utmost sadness that the Office of Attorney General announces that Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 28, 2022. He was 68.
We know Wayne was a widely respected and well-known public figure, but we ask that his family be allowed time to grieve in private.”
Wayne Stenehjem was born on February 5, 1953, Mohall, North Dakota, United States. He attended the University of North Dakota and the UND School of Law, which he graduated from in 1977.
Stenehjem was elected to the North Dakota House of Representatives in 1976. He then held two terms in the House until the year 1980 when Stenehjem was elected into the North Dakota Senate. He was in that position until the year 2000 at which point he became the Attorney General for North Dakota.

Liz Brocker, Wayne Stenehjem’s spokeswoman, stated that she’s not allowed to provide additional details including the cause of Wayne Stenehjem’s death, as his tragic death happened shortly after being transported to the hospital.
However, Allan, the brother of the late former attorney general of North Dakota, revealed that Wayne Stenehjem had been battling with an ulcer that may have inflamed, stating that his brother’s death is not COVID-19 related.
