Who Is Elise Mertens’ Father Guido Mertens?

Elise Mertens was born on 17 November 1995 in Leuven, Belgium.

She is a Belgian professional tennis player who is currently ranked as world No.1 in the doubles competition; this was reached on 10 May 2021.

On 26 November 2018, she attained her highest career ranking of world No. 12 in the singles.

Mertens was introduced to the game of tennis as a four-year-old by her older sister. She is a fluent speaker of speaking French, English, and Flemish Dutch having been homeschooled.

Guido Mertens is the father of Belgian tennis star Elise Mertens. He is married to Liliane Mertens, a school teacher.

Guido earns a living by building furniture for churches and has another daughter called Lauren, who is an airline pilot.
