Rice was fired by The Walt Disney Company on June 9, 2022. He will be compensated by the company, as he made a move from ABC News and recently renewed his contract with Disney last year in August, which was supposed to last until 2024.

Rice was fired by Disney Company, citing an ill fit with Disney’s corporate culture, according to three people briefed on the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss confidential information.

Dana Walden succeeded Peter Rice. Walden is an American businesswoman and currently the Chairman of Disney General Entertainment Content.

She is the CEO of FOX Broadcasting Company, LLC.

As chairman of Entertainment for Walt Disney Television, Dana oversees the Disney Television Studios, content marketing for broadcast network ABC, Hulu Originals, and basic cable channel Freeform.
