Will Smith is still trying to prove to the entire world and Chris Rock that he has really regretted his actions on which tainted the celebrations at this year’s Oscars after he climbed the stage to smack Chris over some comments he passed about his wife.
After the comedian joked about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair during the event, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air actor famously stormed on stage.
Before taking his seat again, he gave the Everybody Hates Chris star a swift smack and admonished him to “keep the name of my wife out of your f**king mouth.”
The actor, who later won his first Oscar for his performance in King Richard, opened up about the incident in a new video posted on YouTube and expressed his sincere apologies to everyone who was impacted.
“It’s been a minute… Over the last few months, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and personal work… You asked a lot of fair questions that I wanted to take some time to answer. I was fogged out by that point. It’s all fuzzy. I’ve reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk and when he is, he’ll reach out.I will say to you Chris, I apologize to you, my behavior was unacceptable, and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.”
Will Smith is currently on a 10-year ban from the Academy however, sources have confirmed that he is working on a sequel for his 2007 film, I Am Legend with his own production house.
