Will Young did the unthinkable at the Kew the Music festival, as she stripped off his pants to escape the sweltering heat during his performance.
The singer, who is commemorating 20 years after winning Pop Idol, gave a performance to tens of thousands of fans on Friday at London’s Kew Gardens on one of the warmest evenings of the year.
He joked with fans about regretting his poor choice of attire, which included a hat, a shirt over a T-shirt, and thick, black pleather trousers, as he entered the stage shortly after 9 p.m. when the temperature was still a humid 27 degrees.
“I shouldn’t have worn these,” he said. “Shouldn’t have worn grey,” he added just after he took off his costume leaving his pants visible under the hem of his shirt.
Will, 43, wrapped up his fantastic concert with renditions of his songs Jealousy, Leave Right Now, and Evergreen.
He was the most recent performer at the Kew Gardens’ Kew the Music Festival, a series of summer nights at the south London botanical gardens, which earlier in the week featured headliners Van Morrison, DJ Spoony, and James Blunt.
