William Alan Shatner was born on 22 March 1931 in Montréal, Québec, Canada into a conservative Jewish family. He is a Canadian actor, author, director, musician, and producer.
Shatner attended Willingdon Elementary School and West Hill High School for his high school education. He was also at the Montreal Children’s Theatre. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the McGill University Faculty of Management in Montreal.
His career in movies started while he was in college; he landed a minor role in The Butler’s Night Off which was a Canadian comedy drama. He worked as an actor and assistant manager at the Mountain Playhouse in Montreal and the Canadian National Repertory Theatre after graduating college.
Shatner who has been acting for the past seven decades is best known for his role in Star Trek as James T. Kirk. Some other films he has featured in are Senior Moment, Miss Congeniality, and Over the Edge among many others.
Shatner has a star on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Canada’s Walk of Fame.
