Xander Jan Bogaerts was born on 1 October 1992 in San Nicolas, Aruba. He is an Aruban professional baseball player. He plays as a shortstop for the Boston Red Sox in Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Netherlands national baseball team.
Bogaert in his debut season in the MLB in 2013 made 30 appearances and helped the Red Sox to annex the World Series Championship.
Xander has won the American League Silver Slugger Award as a shortstop on four occasions. He also set the record for most games played as a shortstop for the Red Sox in 2022.
Bogaerts who speaks four languages: English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento made his professional debut in the Dominican Summer League in 2010.
He has a school in San Nicolas, Aruba, Scol Basico Xander Bogaerts, named after him.
