“You Are Ashawo” – Nana Aba Anamoah Under Attack After Criticizing The Government’s Decision To Introduce New Taxes

Ghanaian broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah has said she is under attack from people she describes as “attack dogs” after criticizing the introduction of new taxes by the government.

According to her, although she has developed a tough skin to withstand the attacks from people anytime she criticizes the government, the fact still remains that the new taxes will suffocate Ghanaians.

In a Twitter rant, Nana Aba Anamoah said the introduction of new taxes by the government that promised not to introduce taxes is clearly a disservice to Ghanaians and it will also increase the economic plight of citizens.

According to her, while people affiliated with the government and the NPP will fail to speak even when they know they are dying due to the rollout of the new taxes, she will continue to speak to power since the President expects her to be a citizen and not a spectator.

Nana Aba Anamoah also advised the government to move away from setting trivial social media trends that not reflect the pressing issues Ghanaians are dealing with. She added that the government must focus on improving the living standards of Ghanaians, simplicity!

Following this, Nana Aba Anamoah has said some attack dogs have been unleashed on her for chastising the government and how the nation is being run. She said she is being called names like “Ashawo” (prostitute) but she will remain relentless in her resolve to speak truth to power.

She wrote: “I see the attack dogs are coming out in their numbers. Calling me ashawo won’t change the fact that you’re attack dogs. Look for a new insult. Ashawo is no longer an insult.”
