Veteran Nigerian actress, Patience Ozokwor has advised up-and-coming Nigerian stars who want to succeed in the industry to do away with the notion that they have to be in Lagos or Abuja to make it.
While speaking at the candlelight vigil held in memory of Africa Movie Academy Awards founder, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, Patience Ozokwor advised her younger colleagues not to worry about moving to Lagos or Abuja.
“For me, I said I am going to stay in Enugu, inside the village and when I go to Lagos, I tell them I am a village woman. I stay at Ngwo in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State and God has shown me that you can become a star from anywhere. You don’t need to be in Lagos or Abuja.”
She added that if you know what you are actually doing and you are extremely good at it, people from all over the world will look for you and contact you irrespective of your location.
“If you are good enough, they will call you even from America,” she added.
