David Obeng Nyarko, the Brands Manager and Communications Director of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has come to the defense of the team’s head coach Seydou Zerbo who has accused Aduana Stars of fixing their home matches.
Kotoko’s head coach accused the referees of not doing a good job after his side lost to Aduana Stars in the MTN FA Cup. Many footballing fans have called for him to be punished after he made the pronouncements.
Speaking to Oyerpa Sports, David Nyarko said the coach should be pardoned for his outbursts considering how the team has been treated by referees during the season.
He said they have had several issues with officiating that has seen some referees punished.
He further stated that in their game against RTU, the goal they scored was a clear offside and also that we are all aware of what we went through at Dawu against Dreams FC when we were denied a clear penalty.
Again, he said against Karela FC, the referee whistled for a penalty when Sheriff fouled a player outside the penalty box, and at Bibiani, Ref Akumatey awarded a dubious penalty against Kotoko.
On Wednesday afternoon, Asante Kotoko will return to action in the Ghana Premier League when the team takes on Bechem United in a Week 19 encounter of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
