Stears Nigeria has released a new poll which reveals that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party is in the lead with 41% ahead of the polls on 25 February.
The presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar come close with 31% and 20% respectively.
The poll however reveals that 36% of the respondents chose to remind silent on their preferred candidate.
In a poll released on Tuesday, Stears said the poll covers 6,220 respondents across Nigeria’s 36 States which made it the largest telephone-based electoral poll in Nigeria.
It shows that Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC is likely to win the election should there be a low voter turnout on election day.
It is projected that the former Governor of Lagos State will poll 39% of the votes while Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar will poll 32% and 22% respectively.
Stears Nigeria said its model predicts that Bola Tinubu has the most silent voters on his side, although they chose to make the disclosure during their interviews.
