We’re No Longer Interested In Your Stadium, You’re Unstable – Atiku Campaign Blasts Wike

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Wednesday, turned down the approval by the Governor of the State, Nyesom Wike, for use of the Adokiye Amesiamaka Stadium, Igwurita-Ali, Port Harcourt, for its presidential campaign rally.

Governor Nyesom Wike is known to have fallen out with the PDP’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar following the results of the party’s primaries last year. He denied giving approval for the stadium for its intended purpose.

Meanwhile, the governor announced at the PDP’s governorship campaign rally at Ogu in the Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday that he has given a reapproval for the venue.

In reacting to the announcement of the approval by Governor Wike, Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa the spokesperson of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State said the Atiku campaign was no longer interested in the facility.

Dr. Nwibubasa said on a radio station based in Port Harcourt that Wike could not be taken by his word by the Council.

He said the Council became aware only yesterday about the restoration of the approval but would want to make it clear that they are no longer interested in what they refer to as the governor’s greek gift.
