Black Stars To Honour Christian Atsu During Angola AFCON Qualifier

Ghana’s senior men’s national team, the Black Stars are set to pay tribute to late Ghana winger Christian Atsu during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification match against Angola later this month.

This was confirmed by Henry Asante Twum, the communications director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

speaking in an interview on the Super Sports show on Original FM, Asante Twum said all the Black Stars players are very sad about Christian Atsu’s death and the Black Stars will surely honor their late member Christian Atsu Twasam during our AFCON qualifier against Angola.

Ghana later this month will face Angola on March 23 and March 27 in the next round of the qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON tournament to be hosted in Ivory Coast.

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi will host the first leg of the doubleheader on 23 March.

While the Black Stars will face the Palancras Negras in the return leg on 27 March in Luanda.
