Joint 77 has taken to social media and subtly shaded his former boss, Shatta Wale, over his retirement from music.
Yesterday, March 31, the Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artiste took to his official Twitter handle and announced his retirement from music.
According to Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. well known as Shatta Wale, his upcoming “GOGALBUM” will be his retirement album. Adding that he has decided to start a business to create employment for those willing to follow in his footstep.
Taking to the microblogging platform, the self-acclaimed African dancehall king wrote;
“THIS #GOGALBUM WILL BE MY RETIREMENT ALBUM.
Made enough to go into new businesses and create employment for those who still want to follow the course !”
Well, the former member of the “Militants” reacting to this, took to Facebook and said a real musician can never retire because even at age 70, the edge to come back into the scene will still be there, unlike football where a player can easily retire, there is no retirement when it comes to music.
“A real musician can never 👎🏾 retire O your throat go still scratch you at age 70 if you still get the strength you go do am music no be football ………a great uncle ones told me this and Itz real 👍🏾#nofunfoolzone#77battalions,” he wrote.
