Mikel Arteta introduced Thomas Partey and Nicolas Pepe in the second half in a seven-players substitution, with the two denied by the woodwork.
Thomas Partey’s freekick from long range hit the upright as the Gunners chase an equalizer.
However, Hibernian will double their lead against the run of play, after Daniel Mackay headed in the second from a cross.
Nicolas Pepe had the chance to reduce the deficit from the spot, but his penalty was saved by the Hibbs goalie.
Emilie Rowe Smith then pulled one back for Arsenal with seven minutes remaining.
