The director of election of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ms. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has claimed that the president of Ghana Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo isn’t as good as John Dramani Mahama’s fight against corruption within the country.
He added that Mahama’s administration is not capable of handling the huge corruption scandal that has erupted under his administration as President.
He said that the NPP government’s inability to investigate corruption cases is a sign of its inability to commit to eradicate the canker. Not only that, but he added that the President’s behavior has demonstrated the inability to fight corruption even in his appointed officials.
To fight corruption, Afriyie Ankrah thinks Mahama has more experience than Akufo-Addo.
This follows shortly following general secretary of the new Patriotic Party(NPP) John Boadu, took a swipe at the NDC’s leader, John Dramani Mahama, saying that he also failed to control corruption during his time as the President.
“Former President Mahama asserts without proof that the NPP has stolen Ghana’s money and that, he can ensure accountability through elections… Is that the same Mahama whose government signed onto a half-baked contract of $1.2 billion for the Ghana Retail Payments Systems Infrastructure? Sibton Switch Systems Ltd has just lost an arbitration demand for $478 million from Ghana for revoking that agreement. The Akufo-Addo administration did a far more enhanced project for only $4.5 million,” he said.
