Dreams FC Star Abdul Fatawu Issahaku was awarded the Discovery of the Year Award at the 46th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards ceremony on Friday night.
The youngster has become a star since breaking on the scene at a young age.
Fatawu Issahaku played a key part in Ghana’s success in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament earlier this year in Mauritania, and was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
The 17-year-old earned his first call-up in the Black Stars under Coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor but made his debut against Zimbabwe under Coach Milovan Rajevac.
Since his arrival at Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC on loan during the current season, Fatawu has been their primary player for the team.
He recorded six goals in his eight appearances in the first Ghana Premier League season.
SWAG have awarded the teen with their Discovery of the Year Award for 2021 in recognition of his outstanding and remarkable performance.
Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is likely to be included as part of the Black Stars squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
