SWAG Awards: Ajax Star Mohammed Kudus Adjudged Foreign Footballer Of The Year

Mohammed Kudus has been adjudged Foreign Footballer of the Year in 2021 at this year’s 46th SWAG Awards.

The Ajax midfielder defeated competitors of Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey and Jonathan Mensah of Columbus Crew to be awarded the prize on the night of Friday.

Kudus is now part of the impressive list of winners that includes the legendary footballer Asamoah Gyan, Black Stars captain Andre Ayew, and his assistant Thomas Partey.

The 21-year-old rehabilitated himself from a major injury earlier in the year and helped Ajax take home the domestic double.

The Dutch giants took home the Eredivise and beat Vitesse at the end of KNVB Cup.

Kudus was not only a star at club level, but he played a key role in the Black Stars securing qualification to 2021’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

His performance during the 2022 World Cup second round qualifying campaign also worth a mention for helping the Black Stars securing their place in the play-offs.

The award would excite Kudus as he continues his recovery from inju. The midfielder is in a big risk for missing the AFCON due to injury.
