Tony Yeboah has cast doubts about the current Black Stars team chances of winning the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations trophy in Cameroon.
According to the Leeds United and Frankfurt star, it will be difficult for Ghana to end the 40-year trophy drought at the 2021 AFCON.
Tony Yeboah however further stated that, he is not ruling out the Black Stars, as the Milovan Rajevac and his boys can pull a surprise.
He said this during the 2021 AFCON review on Onua TV/FM morning show with Captain Smart and the sports crew.
”It will be difficult for Ghana to win the AFCON, but everything is possible in life, so we should pray behind the team. To me, we cannot win the trophy with this team, but anything can happen in football,” he said
”We’ve had several good players, but we were unable to win the title. I believe if we are able to organize things well, anything can happen,” Tony added.
The 2021 African cup of nations will be held in Cameroon, as the host nation will be opening the tournament against Burkina Faso on January 9, 2022, at 4pm.
Ghana will play their first AFCON match against Morocco on Monday, January 10, at 4pm before playing Gabon and Comoros respectively in the group stage.
