Elon Musk has vowed to reverse Donald Trump’s Twitter ban after deal closes and blasts ‘morally wrong’ decision to oust him.
After becoming the microblogging and social networking service’s new head honcho, the entrepreneur, investor, and business magnate has vowed to reverse the 45th president’s Twitter ban.
Musk’s comments came on Tuesday during the Financial Times’ Future Of The Car conference.
When asked about Trump’s Twitter ban, the tech mogul said barring the former president from the microblogging platform was a “mistake” that “alienated much of the country.”
“Permanent bans should be extremely rare and really reserved for accounts that are bots, or scam, spam accounts… I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump,” Musk said at the conference.
“I think that was a mistake, because it alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice.”
Musk slammed the decision as “morally bad and foolish” in the first place.
“I would reverse the permanent ban. I don’t own Twitter yet. So this is not like a thing that will definitely happen, because what if I don’t own Twitter?” Musk added.
The Tesla boss said former Twitter owner Jack Dorsey agreed with his revision.
