British journalist, Dame Deborah James, has revealed that she feels surprised that she has outlived her time after she was moved into hospice care.
Dame Deborah James was moved into her parent’s house after she said she doesn’t want her loved ones to see her last days on earth as their last memories of her.
This comes after doctors declared her bowel cancer terminal.
However, Deborah James is still proving strong as she shares her surprise for still being alive since she was moved into hospice care last month.
“I’m taking life day by day and just continuing to feel blessed to have another day knowing that my time is limited. …At the same time, if truth be told, I’ve already outlived, yet again, what I was told when I was sent home from the hospital. Even I’m a bit surprised. But I think it’s having that sense of purpose, getting involved, continuing with the campaigning which is keeping me going.”
