Benjamin Géza Affleck is an American actor and director. He was born on August 15, 1972. When he was younger, he made his acting debut as the lead in the PBS children’s program The Voyage of the Mimi.
Later, he made appearances in movies by Kevin Smith, such as Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma, as well as the indie coming-of-age comedy Dazed and Confused.
Among his honors are two Oscars, three Golden Globes, and the Volpi Cup, the top prize presented to performers at the Venice Film Festival.

Ben Affleck’s mother, Christopher Anne Boldt, worked as a teacher in an elementary school in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She studied at Harvard University and graduated in 1964 as part of a class that included David Nelson and David Stones.
She married Timothy Byers who was an actor and stage manager in the sixties with the Theater Company of Boston. The couple had two children including Ben. After losing his job as a stage manager, Timothy worked several jobs including becoming a janitor at Harvard.
In an interview, Ben confessed that he had a strained relationship with his father during his childhood because he was an alcoholic and a difficult person.
