Newton Leroy Gingrich was born on 17 June 1943 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
He is an American politician and author who served as the 50th speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999.

Gingrich is of English, German, Scottish, and Scots-Irish descent. He attended Baker High School in Columbus, Georgia, and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Emory University in Atlanta and then to Tulane University to earn his Master of Arts and a Ph.D. in European history.

Jackie was Newt’s former high school geometry teacher.

They had two daughters; Kathy, who is president of Gingrich Communications, and Jackie Sue, who is an author and columnist.
