Famous Nigerian actress cum slay queen, Simisola Gold has reportedly been arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC for allegedly selling new Naira notes.
Since the enrolment of the new currency, Nigerians have had to join long queues and go through all kinds of stress to acquire some for their use due to scarcity. According to the ICPC, the actress seized the current situation in the country to make some extra money by selling the new notes on social media.
“Oluwadarasimi Emma, a social media ‘serial entrepreneur’ who deals in skincare, sales of fuel, facilitation of foreign travels through visa acquisitions, and other businesses, seized the opportunity of the scarcity of the new naira notes to openly market the new notes,” a statement from the ICPC read.
The actress is currently being detained as she assists in ongoing investigations by the CBN, ICPC and EFCC.
