Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan shared his thoughts immediately after Black Stars’ group opponents for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The four-time African champions have been drawn to face Morocco, Gabon and debutants Comoros in Group C.
And Gyan, who assited in conducting the draw in Cameroon on Tuesday evening, described the group as tricky but was optimistic the Black Stars will progress.
“I think it’s a tricky group. Morocco is up there, I think they conceded just one goal in the qualifiers, which statistically is one of the strongest in the group” – Gyan told CAF.
“Ghana is also up there, but everyone who has qualified for the African Cup of Nations is there to win it.”
“Statistically, we’re up there, but we don’t know what’s going to happen. We just have to stay focus and do what we can do to qualify from this group.” – Gyan further added.
The Black Stars will based in Cameroon’s capital Yaounde and will open their campaign against Morocco, followed by Gabon and then wrap up against Comoros.
Their first match against Morocco is scheduled for January 10.
