Black Stars Management Committee To Meet Today Over Ghana’s AFCON Preparations

The Black Stars management committee will hold a meeting today (Tuesday) over Ghana’s preparations for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, to be staged in Cameroon.

The team discuss matters of camping and the team’s build-up for the continental showpiece in January 2022.

Coach Milovan Rajevac is expected to name his provisional squad today for the one-month-long tournament.

The meeting will discuss several issues, including the finalization of Ghana’s preparatory program for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, the provisional squad list for the camping in Doha and Coach Milovan Rajevac’s request for additional backroom staff.

The four-time African champions have lined up an international friendly against African champions Algeria during a camp in Doha, Qatar.

The test match a form part of the preparations of the Black Stars ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations next month in Cameroon.

Ghana will play another friendly before departing for Cameroon for the tournament.

Algeria are currently unbeaten in their 33 matches in all competitions and clear favourites to defend their title when the tournament begins in January.

The last meeting between the Ghana and the Fennec Foxes was in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, where Ghana won 1-0 in the end.

Legendary striker Asamoah Gyan netted the match winner in the additional minutes of the match.
