Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has said the Black Stars will bounce back at the next AFCON after their disgraceful exit from the 2021 African cup of nations in Cameroon.
The West African powerhouse eliminated from the tournament after getting only a point from their 3 games in the group stage.
They lost their opening game by 1-0 to Morocco, draw 1-1 to Gabon, and lost 3-2 to Comoros.
This is the Comoros first time qualifying to the AFCON, and they lost their 2 group games against Morocco and Gabon without scoring a goal, but ended up by disgracing Ghana 3-2 in the last group c match.
And this was the first time the four times African champions have crashed out of an AFCON without a single win, and the first time they’ve exited at the group stage since 2006.
Jordan after the game with the Comoros said the Black Stars were not good enough, and will bounce back at the next AFCON in the Ivory Coast because there are young players.
“We were not good enough. If you concede in the 3rd minute, then you chase the game. Obviously not good enough,” he said.
“We chased the game, and they scored three goals. Now we have to come back stronger. The squad is young, most of them guys its their first AFCON, and we have to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers and then another AFCON next year,” he added.
