Aideen Kennedy was a very famous Northern Irish journalist known as a newscaster on UTV and on BBC.
She passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the age of 43.
Aideen passed away shortly after announcing on social media that she was suffering from a terminal illness.
On Friday, June 17, 2022, Ms. Kennedy posted on Twitter that she was receiving palliative care at home after a stint in hospital.
The final post she made on social media read; “So life has not gone well and I am as sick as I was as when I went in to hospital, so [I’m] essentially going home to die but getting palliative care.
“The kids know. If you ever come across them, will you keep an eye out for them? They are the kindest, sweetest, most thoughtful kiddies.”
Lagan Valley assembly member Emma Little-Pengelly, who had known Ms. Kennedy for more than 20 years, said she was “absolutely devastated”.
