Ghanaians have reacted with reservation to the appointment of ace broadcaster Kwame Sefa Kayi as a board member of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
His appointment took effect yesterday, August 6, 2021, when he met the sector minister, Matthew Opoku-Prempeh and was sworn in alongside other new executives.
Other key individuals on the board of NPA aside from, Kwame Sefa Kayi include:
Manuel Sawyyerr Esq., Clement Osei Amoako, Bernard Owusu, and Dr Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah are members. NPA CEO, Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, and Diana Mogre are part of the board members.
The appointment of the Peace FM journalist has raised eyebrows as many are questioning if Kwame Sefa Kasyi could be objective in his work since he is now part of the government setup.
Many believe his loyalty to the government will override his independence of mind as host of “Kokrokoo” on Peace FM.
Already, Kwame Sefa Kayi has been tagged as “hypocritical” because he fails to critique the Akufo-Addo government as he did during the tenure of the erstwhile Mahama governement.
Ghanaians have been reacting to the news on social media:

Do you also know that they both have a hand in Radio Gold’s annihilation? Such is life!

Chiwali: Time to eat. All those days of announcing fuel price increments everyday on his morning show’s finally been rewarded. I hope he goes there to reduce fuel prices.
