Sir Andy Murray has opened up about his grief after losing his dog, Maggie.
To the dismay of British fans, the Olympic gold winner and tennis great was eliminated from Wimbledon 2022 last month despite a very promising start.
The death of the family’s cherished dog has now dealt the father of four another sorrow.
On Saturday, Sir Andy announced the terrible news on Instagram, saying that Maggie’s passing truly hurts.
He posted a photo of himself holding the tiny terrier mix and wrote: “Today or our family said goodbye to this amazing little dog (sic). She was a huge part of our family and our first pet so this really hurts.”
He went to tell his followers to cuddle their pets now that they can because “it stings when you can’t anymore.”
He went on to thank Maggie for being a star in his life. “Thanks, Maggie Mayhem you were an absolute star ⭐️ ❤️.”
