As Ghana and Angola prepare for their crunch second-leg 2023 AFCON qualifiers clash on Monday, the Palancas Negras forward M’bala Nzola is expected to miss the match in Luanda.
The forward who has been in form at his club side Spezia Calcio is reported to have sustained an injury in the first-leg encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana.
Sources say Nzola will not be available for the Palancas Negras as they seek to avenge their narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Black Stars last Thursday. This development is a huge blow for Angola for whom he is a key player.
Ghana will earn a spot at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a win against Angola on Monday 27. The Black Stars will also miss key players like Denis Odoi, Alexander Djiku, Mohammed Salisu, and inspirational captain Andre Dede Ayew.
The Black Stars are currently sitting three points clear at the top of Group E, with Angola following closely in second place.
