Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has watered down fears that midfielder Thomas Partey has picked up another injury.
The Ghana international was seen limping when he was replaced in the 75th minute of Arsenal victory at Burnley.
But the ex-Atletico Madrid man has returned to training, and manager Mikel Arteta responded to reports that he is not fit.
“He struggled at the end. He was cramping, but that will come because he’s missed a long time. He needs some fitness back,” said the manager after the win at Turf Moor.
Thomas Partey missed the opening three English Premier League games due to an injury he picked during pre-season against Chelsea.
The 28-year-old also missed Ghana’s double World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.
However, he is back and has since been integral to Arteta’s team, helping them to back-to-back 1-0 wins against Norwich and Burnley.
The defensive midfielder is expected to start in the North London derby against Tottenham on Sunday.
