Bawumia Reacts To John Mahama’s ‘Do Or Die’ Comment

The Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has subtly reacted to the ‘do or die comment made by former President John Dramani Mahama.

At the start of the second phase of the former President’s ‘Thank you tour, while speaking in an interview with Techiman-based Akina Radio, the former President stated that the outcome of the 2020 elections as well as events during the election has taught the National Democratic Congress (NDC) a lesson.

According to him owing from the lessons learnt the NDC has decided to make the polls of 2024 a do or die affair.

“We have learnt our lessons from happenings during the 2020 polls,” he stated.

“The 2024 elections will be won or lost at the polling station. It will be do-or-die at the polling stations. The right thing must be done during the polls. We will win the elections at the polling station and won’t wait for collation centre results nor petition the Supreme Court if aggrieved, Mr. Mahama added.

This comment has provoked diverse thoughts of Ghanaians as some couldn’t fathom why Mahama made such a comment.

The Vice President of Ghana Dr. Bawumia, speaking at the Ghana Construction Industry Excellence Awards 2021 held in Accra on Friday 10th September told all those who may not be awarded not to see the awards as a ‘do or die’ affair-apparently making reference to Mahama’s comment.

”You know when you go for these competitions or awards, it is not ‘do or die’. So, we wish you better luck in 2022”, he humorously said.
